My feet feel like they are on fire (literally) I have tried all of my prescription creams with no relief. I have even soaked them in cold water with ice cubes, plus I am battling the side affects of Humira, I am so tired, and fighting headaches. Sorry, for complaning, but it's been a tough week and it's only Wednesday. If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to listen.

Hi Patsy,
How about Benedryl? The cream to rub on the feet, and I use childrens liquid benedryl to control the itch and burn from the inside out.
I Prefer the liquid because I can control how much I take that way, with a pill I can't. If I take a full dose it just knocks me out, but with the liquid, I just take a little bit....enough to help with the itching and burning, but not so much that I can't function. good luck...I feel for you.
Hi Patsy....well I cant help you out on the feet issue....I cant tell you that I too am a firm believer in the liquid Benedryl...I also take the children's because if I take too much it makes me wild then knocks me out cold for a long time....cant have that with three little ones running around...lol...I am also battling headache secondary to the Remicade...my doctor has given me propranolol 40 mg two times a day to help with that...i cant tell a huge difference but it may be worth asking the doctor for something to help ease the headaches....

and it isn't complaining...it is simply letting other that understand fully what you are going through know that you have had a rough week.....and for that I'm sending you some virtual hugs...I will say a prayer for you tonight in hopes that your feet..your headaches...your fatigue and your week all get better....

let us know how the rest of your week went...
Thanks!! I had not thought of Benadryl, but I am quickly learning to ask questions. Cindy, I know what you mean about the little ones. I retired so I could enjoy caring for my grand kids while their Moms work. I truly appreciate the virtual hugs and prayers. I'm sending the same back to you!! Hope you all have a great weekend. :-)
Hi Patsy, I don't have any suggestions except soaking in cold water, which I've tried, and I see you've done that. And it didn't really help much anyway. When I saw your post it really hit home and I had to reply. I also have psoriasis on the soles of both feet and the palms of the hands. It really does burn like fire, which is exactly how I describe it to my husband. Also have tried many prescription creams, to no avail. So many folks have severe itching, but with me it's more a burning sensation. I just wanted to say you're not alone, I feel for you. I know how bad it can be. Thank God I'm not suffering headaches. The benedryl idea sounds good. I hope it helps.
I too have Psoriasis on my feet(and only feet) though having had mine for only 2 years this August. mine have never burned(ie;felt like there were buring). They DO itch terribly and look just awful..(especially)NASTY too when wet?! When my feet are wet for any length of time they look all shriveled up and gross as if I were like 92 years old. I have been very curios about the IV drip drugs as I have only taken the topical steriodal ointmetns/creams/foams. I get headaches/migraines ALL the time anyways..so I cannot even imagain having to be on a drug that caused headaches(SAD) I have heard dome of the more seriosu drugs could cause Lymphoma?!Is this true and doesthe thought of that scare you? HUGS to you, I can SO Emphathize with what you are dealing with
Hey Amy....do some research on Lymphoma.... I'm currently trying to research what my doctor told me...."no matter the drug you are on, psoriasis suffers are at an increased risk of lymphoma" I'm researching it...maybe someone else out there has heard the same thing...I don't know... I'm still just learning all about what they tell me....good luck..and if I find out one way or another...I will post it here too...
Hi Sandra,
Isn't strange how some people itch and some do not. My feet burn with very little itching. I also started with a few spots on my feet, doctors were treating me for athletes foot. My feet are now covered on the bottom and wrapping around the sides, you are so correct sometimes it's to painful to walk. I turned 50, retired a year ago, so excited to keep my grand kids, them WHAM....diagnosed with the curse.... I am keeping the grandsons even if some days are painful, it's not going to take me over. I think a positive attitude is the best thing you can do for yourself, or you might just go crazy :-) Stay in touch..

Hi Amy,
I have tried about every cream/lotion on the market, nothing seems to help. My rheumatologist started me on Humira for the psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis. Yes, the meds and side affects are scary, but I was told in the testing of the medications all side affects are documented, so they list many of them. I can tell you over the counter stuff that's helped: Any diaper rash cream that contains high amount of zinc, or anything with shea butter, or petroleum jelly. Hugs to you also. Take care!!

Hi, I am new to psoriasis (since September) and do not have such a bad case. Prescriptions don't seem to work. If I do nothing I have burning, itching, and round patches rise and scales form and mulitply. With this regimen one elbow has a small red spot and the other has one red scale. I use the following and I rotate on the elbows: wash daily with soaps (Sea buckthorn by Aubrey, Organix Thera Neem, Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Skin Care Soap). I use Dream cream (by lush) for the itching morning and night (works great). Psoriaflora Cream for redness and itching at the same time at least once daily. Ocean salt (by lush) to remove the scales during a shower. When I am out of the above products I use Dermarest for Psoriasis (3% salicylic acid--could have side effects with long term use), Tea Tree Oil liquid, then vitamin e oil on top of it. it is a little messy but well worth the itch, scaling, and redness relief. Has anyone had any success by treating for candida? Or tried zinc tablets, lineolic acid (safflower or primrose oil), extra virgin olive oil or vitamin e supplements? I would like to try these next. Good luck to you.
I feel your pain! I just developed psoriasis on the soles of my feet and palms of my hands for the first time in my life!I Even wearing shoes hurt them because then they start itching and burning. It makes driving difficult. I wish I could offer some suggestions, but I am trying to figure out how to deal with this first! Good luck to you!
I am so sorry to hear you have psoriasis!! I know exactly what you mean about shoes, walking is becoming very difficult. Today I have keep petroleum jelly, and diaper rash cream on my feet then, wrapped in saran wrap. It's the only thing that seems to be working a the moment. Take Care.

Funny you should mention the saran wrap! Every night since I got this on my palms a soles (only about 2 weeks now) My husband has been putting cream on me and wrapping them in Saran Wrap! That works WONDERS for the patches on my arms and legs...always has. I can't believe the several red spots I saw on my hands has turned into the skin literally peeling off of my hands! My fingers are red and swollen like small sausages as well!I I can only pray to GOD that this does not last long. I have dealt with the other scaly psoriasis on my arms and legs for 23 years and can control it very well with tanning salon treatments, but I am now in severe pain with this new type. I never even knew this type existed until I started researching it. The new red skin that is under the peels feels like the skin under a blister when it pops. By the grace of God I found this site today and I'm very comforted by the feeling to know that I am not alone! Thank you so much for your advice!!! :)
