Wrapping up my third week on Humira, things are definitely looking better (though not clear) -- and I have a cold (natch). Que sera sera...

I feel so much better, feeling and seeing skin where plaques used to be, feeling more flexible in my hands (where most of my psoriasis is). It's funny, though -- I see and feel a big difference, but no one around me does. Even with that, I feel far less self-conscious. :-)

I'll keep you posted as I continue to cross my fingers and see if I'm lucky enough to see myself clear again!

I just started Humira too, will be on my second week next Wednesday. I hoping my hands and feet clear up as good as yours are doing. Good Luck, Jax!!
My husband has been to a specialist today (I live in New Zealand) and might be prescribed Humira and hoped to find out what people who have used it have found it. :)
He has psoriatic arthritis with the Psoriasis. The arthritis is severe in his neck, back, hands and feet. The psoriasis covers over 75% of his body.
He has tried Methotrexate but elected to stop. ( his psoriasis cleared up dramatically but had problems with his liver function tests and kidneys.)
I too just started humira and like u i feel and see a diffrence but yet no one else seem to think so!!! i know i love the way i feel these few weeks, I even wore shorts outside for the first time in about 8 years. I know it's gonna be a long time before my skin is like it was 10 years ago but i feel great knowing that something is working for me and i feel you on how you feel. Good luck on your treatments Jax
Thanks for the support, Linda! It's funny how no one notices and yet, at least for me, it's a dramatic difference. Kind of makes you wonder when something that we think of as such a big part of ourselves changes so much and garners so little attention.

Of course, the most important thing is how it makes us feel -- and even though I'm still red and splotchy, my hands, my knees, ankles, feel so much more flexible without all that skin!

I agree Jax!!!! Just keep your head up no matter wat ppl say about it becuz i know i look ahead when ppl make comments about my skin and as long as we feel great thats all that matters

Greetings, I am new to the world of Humira too.  Once all of the paperwork and approvals from insurers are completed, I will get my first injection of this medication.  It should be in the next week or so and I must say that in this moment I feel like it couldn't happen too soon.  My skin and joints "feel" like they are at an all time hurting plateau and I have decided to take this next step.

I would love to hear how everyone is now that it is a few months since this post.

Thank you for starting this thread Jax.

Hello all...  I haven't been on here in quite somtime but I started Humira in January.  I have suffered from Psoriasis since 1996-7 and am in my 3rd month of Humira.  As of about 2weeks ago, I am finally seeing my skin heal.  I have it on the bottom of my feet and as well as in the palms of my hands and take an injection every other week and also use Clobetasol and Vanos (both topical creams).  Prior to that I tried Soriatene.  It was fantastic and really cleared my skin up the best it had been in many years.  However, it raised my blood pressure, face was beet red, made my skin "really" oily (I could wipe globs of oil from my forehead), and it gave me chest pains right below my heart.  At times I actually felt like I was going to have a heart attach!  Only side affects from Humaira so far is the injection site swells, gets red, itches, and then will bruise about a week later.  After that its gone.  Also seem to itch all over too.  Hope I am not alergic to it, sure is nice to just get a shot and be done with it.  I plan to keep all posted when possible...
I am on my 7th month of Humira and am now back on Soriatane after being off of it for several months.  My feet have been the worst but are finally showing signs of clearing up.   I am 56 years old and was just diagnosed with this at age 55!  It has been a long winter with this but I hope that I am now on the downhill side.  I also have noticed that I am having the psoriatic arthritis in my back, hips, and neck.  Also, I have an infection that I take antibiotics for daily...a skin infection....just started right after I started the Humira.

Thank you Bryan and Debbie for sharing what is happening for you at this time. My treatment with Humira has been delayed as there was some confusion around some test results.  It looks like I start next week sometime.... The funny thing for me is that the peak of my flare up seems to have passed and the intense pain has acquiesced for now. I seem to be managing with good old anti-inflamitories, rest, and springtime air.  Go figure.  Maybe P & PA are on the run from the news of incoming biologics...lol

The anticipation of it is a little stressful but I intend move forward with Humira the experience.
