I have plaque psoriasis. I usually have scales but for some reason the last few days my skin has been peeling like a sunburn. I have been taking a new drug as part of a study for 8 weeks but have seen no results where most others have seen results within 4 weeks so I don't think it is related. Anyone every had this happen? My doc said it was normal but it has never happened to me before......

My psoriasis that I get on the palms of my hands would peel like that. It would blister up and then peel off in sheets. Maybe you're getting another form of psoriasis.
hi hollyrae my skin does this if i put something on it like any medicated sprays or even new cloths that haven,t been washed. I will get kinda of a contact reaction where my skin will look like its burned. It will then peel off in really thin sheets.you may be having a reaction to the meds or something else around you. I wish you well

I have peeled flakes as big as 4x4 inches off my body before at one time...in one piece
I can tell when i'm going to have a flair up because the normal skin around my psoriasis looks like it has been sunburned and peels...then the plaques just get larger because the normal skin i peel then becomes psoriasis.....

then when my flair up is getting better it resolves from the inside out of the plaque....
I had the peeling on the palm of my hands too but it only lasted for a couple weeks then just went away. I'm hoping its just a reaction to meds.

Yea it is normal. It only happens to me after I kinda almost getting better but not really.. and also after I applied tons of lotion or baby oil. I don't know what or why, but it is always a welcoming sight in some sense for me. Sure I shed more, but they are thin skin, not thick skin.. Meaning my psoriasis in getting better.. Like my skin is in one piece again, not all broken up....
Also what med? Soratin does that as a side effect
I am doing a research study, I believe the name of the drug is apremalast. I hope it is working but I have been taking it for 9 weeks now with no results really. Most other people are responding and clearing within 4 weeks!
