Remicade and sun sensitivity

I hate to hear that Shanika....I had no problems with the remicade and sun the whole tim ei was on it...remicade was my wonder drug for 12 months....then i got severly stressed out and it completely stopped working sending me into a full body flare and i ended up since and in the hospital off and on for two months before going to the mayo clinic and having the goeckerman treatment...the geokerman treatment puts most patients in remission for 3 years or more....i was home for a month and mine came back and im currently in a flare that spreads more each day...(but i did experience a very stressful time with my uncles sudden passing)....i was also put on stelara at the mayo clinic and have had no success with that....i am debating asking my new derm to try remicade again no that my body has flushed it out....i hope this is a very temporary thing for you and that you are able to be spot free again.....

I know that our bodies need Vitamin D from natural sunlight. Perhaps there is something in Remicade that is causing you Vitamin D deficiency and preventing you from absorbing the positive effects of natural sunlight. Just a thought.

Cindy- I hate remicade stopped working for you. i feel like im at the end of the road yet again! My derm told me that i can take it at the same dose for a few more months then up the dose or take methotrexate with it. I hate methotrexate with a passion so i may up my dose but im really wanting to call it quits on all these crazy medicines!! I hate being so young and feeling like im pushing fourty....ive stayed sick with remicade and my body aches like crazy. I thought i had read everything i could about psoriasis and the medicnes but i've never heard of the goeckerman treatment...tell me more!!!

hi shanika ,

dont loose confidence. i too facing the same problam. i dev'd  p six months back. so just mild drugs even 70 % affected.

i use to  jogg in  the first sun shine , to avoid sun burns .take help from sun shine by openiing windows and doors when ever possible. even two or three min of exposure u can try.took multivitamin metadexadin occasionally.

 you have to plan your schedule as per your convinance as p os chronic
