I was just wondering if any one out there is taking part in a clinical trial for the drug Apremilast? Just want to share stories. It has worked wonders for me. Hopefully it will be approved by the FDA soon so everyone can have it. It is a pill I take 2x a day, very minimal side effects! After creams and Enbrel this was very welcoming :)

how big is the pill?.....what side effects have you experienced thus far? is it something you will have to take two times a day forever or just an alotted amount of time.....I think I will go research it as well.....(right now im sitting in the hospital getting my Remicade infusion, what I call my miracle drug)....keep us updated.....i love to hear about new drugs and whats going on.....
It is two tiny pills. Side effects have been fatigue and a little nausea in the morning after i take it but goes away when i eat. That's it. I think some others have experienced headaches and loose stools. It seems to be two times a day forever. The reason I decided to do the research study was because my dermatologist opened a research department in her office. I already had a feeling of trust with her and knew they were concerned with my best interest, not just the study. And i would much rather swallow pills then take shots twice a week like i did with Enbrel! It took about 3 to 4 months before I saw results but I have remained clear for about 8 months now! My biggest concern is what I will do when the study ends? Luckily they have extended the study for I think another 6 months, and maybe longer after that.
OMG! I just found out today that the study has been extended for 5 years! holy cow!
yay...so now you dont have to worry about paying for it yet.....im glad its helping you!!!
exactly! But when I think about the reason they do these long studies, its to see what the long term side effects are. I am confident though, They take my blood, do an ekg and get a urine sample ever time I go in so I know they are watching out for me. Its a chance I am willing to take.
Cindy how is your treatment working for you?
so much for research. I couldn't continue, for no fault of my own! So I got my first injection of Stelera today! Thank goodness for the Stelera co-pay assistance program! Hope it works for me :)
