The BEST news I have heard all year!
So as my Psoriasis gets worse I decided to hold off on Ramicade and seek another opinion from a new Derm. My appointment was yesterday and immediatly he tells me I have Guttate Psoriasis, which I have never really been told an offical name. Anyways he then tells me that this is usually caused by a bacterial infection most commonly in the tonsils. So his recommendation is to have my tonsils removed and be placed on antibiotics for three months. He is 80% sure that this will clear it not only temporarely but permenantly! AWESOME. It all finally makes sence though about the time I started getting this was after I was really sick on a trip to Koera. It doesnt run in my family and I dont have that much stress. SOOOOO I hope he is right I really want this gone and gone NOW! Wish me luck and I will keep you all posted!

I agree with Cindy. Do what you think is best for you, but if your Derm is not giving you the correct information I would find another, you loose nothing getting a second opinion. Good Luck

I agree with Cindy and Patsy, you need to get away from that "derm". I would recommend pulling your family doc in on this. Those blood tests are critical on this medication. Please keep us posted on what happens.

take the blood test...i was taken off of MTX because of my ALT level was too high.....without the test how would anyone wouldve known?...oh i dont drink ....at first it was normal then it got high..and then it got really high...yeah the body did adjust to some of it...he might beable to prescribe the most amount that your body can handle to deal with your P, if a little is not enough

hi ryan..i've been for MTX for more than a year now...i have blood tests regularly. and i think you also to do that to monitor the effects of the pill you are taking...my derm see to it that i have done the test at least every other month.

That just happened to be recently. I was diagnosed june 2009 i have been horribly sick with strep and what not for years and i got sick and was anibiotics, then i got a sun burn and psoriasis i was diagnosed with. after seeing many doctors i finally found one and was told to remove my tonsils. supposedly they were BAD. i mean bad! that was on Dec 11 i had the surgery. now im just waiting to see what happens. I've still gotten break outs but they aren't nearly as big as they were. So im just hoping it works for me as well as u. Good luck.
