I wanted to try out for cheerleading in high school...but was afraid my skin would crack open and bleed with those skirts....So I went for marching band with the full body coverup. Turned out to be a great thing for me in the end with solos and being the Section leader and all!

my dad suffers as well and he swears the ocean water helps!

A COUPLE YEARS AGO I WAS VISITING A FRIEND THAT HAD A POOL IN HER APARTMENT BUILDING, I WAS A LITTLE APREHENSIVE ABOUT GOING SWIMMING BUT THOUGHT YOU KNOW MAYBE IT WON'T BE BAD. I WAS SO WRONG! THERE WAS A WOMEN WITH TWO CHILDREN IN THE POOL THAT DAY,WHEN I TOOK OFF MY TOWEL AND SHE SAW MY LEGS SHE GOT SO WORRIED THAT SHE MADE HER KIDS GET OUT OF THE POOL AND BEGAN ASKING ME A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS. I EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS NOT CONTAGIOUS BUT THAT DID NOT CHANGE HER MIND ABOUT BEING IN THE SAME POOL AS ME. I NEVER REALIZES JUST HOW NOTICABLE IT WAS UNTIL THEN.
SINCE THEN I HAVE NOT GONE SWIMMING WHEN THERE ARE PEOPLE AROUND, I WON'T WEAR SHORTS IN THE SUMMER, I WON'T GET INVOLVED WITH ANYONE BECAUSE PEOPLE THAT DON'T HAVE IT DON'T UNDERSTAND IT, AND I HAVE LET MY WEIGHT GO BECAUSE I FEEL UNATTRACTIVE DUE TO MY P.

there are some psycho parents out there. i love to educate so i don't mind explaining to people but i ain't gonna let it get in the way of the most healing thing to skin; sun/vitamin D.
so sorry you had a terrible experience. i have kids and i never would have taken them out of the pool or questioned you to death in a rude, self-motivating way.

hi marcos i dont swim i dont wear anyting that is short i feel like i always have to hide.

YES both are, my light box treatments have made me almost clear

I think as a coping mechanism, I have become obsessive, anxious, and hypervigilant, so to answer the question, I haven't been able to feel normal and productive. I am always on edge and i make up excuses to keep me from being held responsible for myself. And it definitely prevents me from going after relationships. I had the greatest man in the world, and at one point he wanted to marry me, but my psychological imbalance got in the way.
