What do you think triggered your Psoriasis?

I had strep throat and broke out with guttate psoriasis about two weeks later at the age of 33 for the first time. It took six months to clear up with nbuvb light treatment. Now when I get stressed out or have a cold I will flare up again.

No one in my family has it. I do recall having strep throat as a child. The first out break was a tiny patch the size of a dime and then grew. I am 29 and it's the worst ever. I am greatful it never went to my face.
the horrible flareup is due  to severe winter and acidity of my body.
For me, sadly, the death of my only daughter of just 39 years old. She passed away 11/28/2010 with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I started having symptoms soon after. I have a dermatologist, however, the expense is just too much for my limited budget. I am trying to find other ways to relieve some of the pain. I have a rash over 75% of my body with open and painful lesions on fingertips, palms and bottom of feet. I so hope someone can help me with some advice on what to do. In addition to this I am having joint pain in one knee and shoulder.
I wanted to share something with yall.  I have pustular psoriasis and I am using humira for about six months now but also a cream.  A nurse told me of a pharmacy in GA (from what i know this pharmacist makes it himself) and this cream has made a real difference.  It charges $20 for a bottle....no prescription needed.  It has been a miracle.  I can walk again without any pain or pain medication.  Here is the ingredients: caffeine tranilast, hydro cortisone, coal tar, pharma base, ethoxy diglycol, ex 1/10.....it does not require a prescription.  I don't know about others and how you will respond.  He did not charge me for the first bottle to make sure it responded....it did.  I just wanted to share my knowledge....if you want more info like the name and all I will email to you if you want. Also I do take benadryl at night for the itching. Pamela I am so sorry to hear of your daughter.
my heart sincerely breaks for your loss.  my friend of just 32 just lost her life to cancer.

Laura, I am saddened to hear about the death of your young friend. No one should have their life cut short. Thank you for the advice. This is, as you know, an extremely painful condition. God bless you for taking the time to reply to me.

Laura..I am sorry to hear of your friends death :(  I am just wondering if it is possible to acquire the lotion you are using for $20.00? I do not live to far from Georgia :) Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Melanie

Seems like the Humira is making you feel better, Laura, and the hrdrocortisone and coal tar (both inexpensive over the counter topicals) might help a little bit where the Humira is not finishing the job. The caffeine and rest of its mumbo-jumbo to justify the price. Hydro and coal tar should cost much less per tub than $20.
