Research funding for psoriasis and psoriatic
arthritis through the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) set a
new record in 2009. Total funding for the year was $16 million. The
total includes $13 million in base funding plus $3 million in funding
from the Stimulus Bill.

By way of comparison, in 2005, the year Psoriasis Cure Now was founded, the budget was just $6 million.
