HI, I am new here and would like to make some new friends who understand what I am going through. I am 25 and I have had Psoriasis since I was 5 years old. I hope to hear from you all soon! :)

Ashley K replied to Ashley K's discussion Hello everyone :)"Yes I do have it on my face unfortunately. Sunlight helps big time. I used to use a cream called Locoid Lipocream that works very well. Clears my face in about 3 days. :) Hope this helps!

Paula said… - Did you use the auto inject or the Enbrel that you draw up yourself? I was tole that the auto inject you kind of sit it on you skin then push a button and the needle comes out the end "pokes" in and the med goes right in. But the other you have to actually poke yourself and then push the plunger of the syringe. I asked the doctor for the later, but now think maybe I should have done the Humria auto inject. I have to be pre authorized by my insurance first and then learn the shot thing. So we shall see. I'll let you know how my first shot goes when I finally get the meds. Thanks, Paula

- 40 years! Yikes! I bet you do have a lot of information for us newbies. I was diagnosed 2 years ago. I currently take methotrexate and use every kind of topical cream there is. My rheumatologist asked me on Friday to decide on Humira or Enbrel to my meds. I can't decide if I really am at the point to start with either. I am so not a fan of needles. Paula

- Thanks for making me your friend. I have had psoriasis for over 40 years! Yes, I could say I am an expert. I served on The National Psoriasis Foundation executive board of directors in the early formative years of this foundation. I have thought about writing a book about all the tricks i learned to canmouflage my disease as a young woman who wanted to enjoy life like everyone else. I think it would make a good read....for those young women with psoriasis. There is so much more out there to make life so much easier now days! Avette
