Profile Information

I have psoriasis on my feet and hands only, have had it for approximately 12-13 years and my doctor prescribes Clobetasol Propionate Cream USP, 0.05%. From what I understand it is a steriod cream. Haven't really tried much more than this and basically go through "spurts" where it is working fine then all of a sudden it takes a turn for the worse. I use it on both my hands and feet. It seems that the left foot is much worse than that of the right foot. I can go days not really doing nothing with the right foot while really doctoring the left foot heavily. My hands are not too bad to begin with but I do have my days where the palms itch like crazy. As of last week I think I had started getting an infection in my left foot and have been in bed all weekend. Feet are "oosing" and am in alot of pain. This occurs once or twice a year and just have to stay off them and keep them dry using a fan and a towel... Am at the point where it is getting frustrating to me and am tired of dealing with it all. I have to work everyday and that requires wearing shoes and that doesn't help at all. Just thought I would join this site and see how other people are dealing with it and what they are doing to help keep it under wraps...

I am going to see a new derm in January hopefully they will have more suggestions. Have a great day.

Hi Bryan,
Welcome. I also have it on my hands and feet. My feet are the worst, some days it's very hard to walk or put on shoes. I soak them daily in oatmeal, apply prescription creams/lotions helps some, but not much. I have not gone barefoot in a long time. Currently on Remicade for the arthritis part of it. It's my understanding that the type of psoriasis we have is very drug resistant.
