I saw this post and wondered about your dermatologist firstly never scape your scales as your skin is hyperactive and tries to repair itself too aggressively with P that is why you end up with the more scales about 6 times more than a normal person…

I use epsom salt in my bath and soak for 20-30 minutes. Make sure the water is not hot just a little warm. Hot water drys the skin. After 20 - 30 minutes just rub the scales with you hand and they roll up and come off. Then get out pat dry and try…

Stelara day one 12-09-09

I am 90% covered with P and have PA in the knees, ankles , feet and hand. I have been on Enbrel and then Humira . I was also on MTX and Cyclosporin and was taken off. It seems like i am hoping that this is the miracle drug for me. Today i recieved my first shot. Will keep you updated on what it does. I will receive the second shot in 4 weeks and after that every 12 weeks....the cost is $2000 but my pay with my insurance is $200. How long do you bath to remove the scales?

I am largely covered with psoriasis from head to toe. I would bath in hot/warm water for about 1 hour-1 1/2 hours and rubbing constantly to get the scales off. first i would sit and soak and then start rubbing scales off gently and then i would rinse off with a warm shower to try to peal off the rest of the scales that i did'nt get. areas like the scalp , the lower legs and the middle back seems to be the hardes. Hey there Lewis..... I'm writing to answer a few of your questions....im sorry if my thoughts seem a bit jumbled up tonight I just have so much going on right now that my mind is just racing with a thousand thoughts of things to get done by specific dates...lol...Im a huge worry-wart (a horrible thing to be with a disease that attacks those that are always stressed...lol)..............so i appoligize in advance for that....

I have had psoriasis for over 14 years now and PA for a few years....I have been on almost every cream there is out there and a lot of the oral medications and a few of the injections and now im on Remicade which is an infusion...I love my method of treatment right now...it seems to be what works for me right now at this time...as you must know by now....this disease comes and goes as it very well pleases no matter what we feed it or suppress it with...

Hair.....I lost a lot of hair back in march... April and the beginning of may...the hair loss got so bad that my husband and I made the decisions to just shave the rest off...I had rather go bald by my own choice....so we did...I shaved my head and used the prescription Cormax Scalp Solution for a few days and in less than a week there was no psoriasis to be found on my head....

As far as is this a cycle....um....well I sure hope not...but....well Im just going to say I sure hope not...In the past yes I have been through cycles where I could clear up a bit for about three months then get hit hard for about six months to nine months then less for three and so on...but never....yes i said it...NEVER have I been 100% clear for one day in the past 14 years...I am proud to say for the first time since I was diagnosed 14 years ago I have been in 100% remission for going on 5 months now... You are not going to believe this when I say it but...i contribute a lot of that success to this website...When my husband found this site for me i was at the lowest I had ever felt...this website gives me a meaning and a purpose...I feel like I know why God put me here...To help....and help I will offer till I cant anymore....with that being said...feel free to shoot me a message or email anytime...have a great weekend...

Hi Lewis, I have been active on this site because I am so excited about all the great people I have met. I have no problem with any questions, but my knowledge on a lot of meds is very limited - I just started on my first oral med tonight after years of every topical under the sun. I also do not have PA. Aside from that, send whatever question you would like - it is just nice to have a friend to "talk" to who really understands. Good thoughts are headed in your direction! Jane
