This is a prayer I say daily:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen.

Oh My What a Journey

January 2010 I had an appt. with a new dermatologist: This is where the story begins. The new derm enters the room and we go over medical history, my skin and joint issues. (by this time I received my last remicade infusion in November 09 and was feeling great) we decided since I had never had a biopsy on my feet we would start there, only my rheumatologists had diagnosed me with psoriasis. After a two week wait on the results I went back to get them, needless to say to my surprise the…

Never Ending Cycle part 2

Today was my appt. with my Rheumatologist, he got to see my feet and arthritis at there worst. My feet are still so painful, cracking and bleeding......it's so painful to walk and to top it off the arthritis is also full blown, my knee is swollen and painful. What a combination. We did agree Humira is not working, so to the lab for x-rays, blood work. Next step if all labs are good this Remicade schedule for next week. I will admit I am a little scared.

I gave in to the pain today. I could no longer bear to walk or put on shoes. Called the dermatologists got a appt. Of course she came in a looked and shook her head, but this time I had a copy of all the cream/lotions she had given me before (that did not work) also listed everything had been doing oatmeal soak, cream, lotions etc. She told me I had very angry feet ( I paid her for that diagnosis) could have told her that. With my work load, I just do not have time to do the phototherapy thing three times a week. I am assuming that stress if the major factor here.
But, how are you doing? You are always in my prayers!

If that does not help, they want to start me on enbrel.

At 7:24am on April 9, 2010, Jane Lacher said…: Hey Patsy - I actually have a derm appt at UofM this morning. Still on methotrexate and my legs/elbows are essentially cleared. Hands are another story - they keep flaring on me. So far my blood work has been reasonable, although the liver enzymes keep skirting near the high normal and now my white blood cell count is starting to hit the low normal level. Will see what they have to say today.
