My Story

I was diagnosis with plaque psoriasis in 1991. I was 12 years old. When I was first diagnosis I had a hard time accepting it. Going to school was so diffcult for me . I would get made fun of and pick on daily. I would come home crying daily. My mom would try and comfort me the best she could. I was the only one at that time in my family with psoriasis and I didn't know anyone else with it. When I was 18 years old my dad was diagnosis with psoriasis. I was like finally someone that I could relate to that knew what I was going through. But my dad starting blaming himself for me having psoriasis. So I have a hard time talking to him about how I feel and what I go through. Even though I told him I don't blame him. When I was 25 years old I was diagnosis with psoriatic arthritis. My first thought why do I have to suffer with this too. I feel so old at times. I just think God has his reasons for me having psoriasis and psoriatc arthritis. I may never know his reason but maybe someday he will tell me.
