Hey all,
So i have been apart of this site for quite some time now and have recieved so much good advice and read my share of success and struggle stories. So I figure it's about time I share mine. I was first officially diagnosed with Psoriasis when I was 12, now 21, so nine years ago, and it has only progressively gotten worse since then. I couldn't help but think ever since I first started going to the dermatologist and they started giving me every cream known to man that it was only making it worse because I was noticing P in places i never had it before. I was always told i had a "mild" case so thats what I came to believe because I would look at pictures and see people that had it so much worse than I did so "mild" seemed fitting. It wasnt until about 9 months ago when I stumbled across this site that I kept hearing people talk about Enbrel and Stelera and other forms of injections for P. I always knew that these forms of treatment existed but in my mind my case was "mild" so I didnt need them. I don't know what I read or what came across me that one day that I finally asked my dematologist about looking into alternate forms of treatment. Fast foward to about 2 months ago and I'm taking Enbrel twice a week and have seen the biggest improve thusfar, and I have you guys to thank for that. If i hadn't come across this site and read all the amazing advice that everyone had to give chances are I would still be switching from cream to cream in hopes of making my Psoriasis go away. Yes, I do realize that just like any other treatment chances are it will stop working after awhile and we will have to try something new, but for right now I'm going to enjoy this moment of having my Psoriasis under the most control it has been in a long time. With that said the purpose of this blog is not to bost about my success right now but to let everyone out there that is loosing hope, like I was, know that there are other treatments out there. So if you haven't tried Enbrel or any other form of alternate treatment I highly reccomend it, and even if you have tried what seems like everything just know that there is always something new out there or right around the corner so don't give up. Thanks again for everyones advice and support because no matter how hard anyone tries only someone else who is fighting the same battle with Psoriasis can truly know how I feel.
